The fourth game in the hurling championship was played against Clonmel Óg in Ardfinnan on Saturday 6/8/2011. Leading by 1-3 to 0-3 at half time Clonmel Óg scored a number of points to lead going into injury time. A ball lobbed into the opposition goal resulted in Conor Grant getting a vital touch to score a goal and win the game by a point. Final score Newcastle 2-6, Clonmel Óg 0-11. Team and scorers were; Will Kennedy, Alan Cullinan, Johnny Hallinan, Conor Grant (1-0), Niall Morrissey, Brian Sweeney, Emmet Prendergast, Daniel Kennedy (0-2), James Fitzpatrick, Caoimhín McGrath (1-0), Shane Hickey, Diarmuid Devaney (0-2), Brian Hyland, Andrew Fitzpatrick (0-2) and Tommy Sweeney.  Subs were Alan Sweeney for Tommy Sweeney and Frank Hallinan for Brian Hyland.
