Juvenile GAA Notes

The Under 12 footballers beat Ballylooby/Castlegrace in the South semi-final on Monday night June 12th in Clonmel. The team were victorious by 5 points and now qualify for the South final against Ballyporeen in Clogheen on Saturday evening June 15th. Players were Pádraig O’Loughlin, Dane O’Sullivan, Feidhlim Ryder, Jason O’Donnell, Tommy Tyler, Luke Condon, Arron O’Neill, Max Zimmerman, Tadhg Devaney, Alice Ryan, Yvonne Clancy, Jack Rice Fitzpatrick, Ciarán O’Loughlin,Caelainn McGrath and Janis Sturkina. Best of luck to all involved. The same players had played a challenge match the previous week against Ardfinnan in Ardfinnan winning by 17 points to 10. On May 10th, some of the same players were involved in games in Ardfinnan for the Mickey Mahoney Shield. Newcastle played two games beating Ardfinnan and Grange to bring the shield back to Newcastle for the third year in a row. The players were Alice Ryan, Yvonne Clancy, Jack Rice Fitzpatrick, Ciarán O’ Loughlin, Max Zimmerman, Caelainn McGrath, Tadhg Devaney, Tommy Kiely, Jack Kelly, Tiernan Cremmins, Chloe Morrissey and Joshua McLean. The Under 14 hurlers played a challenge match against Cahir on Thursday June 6th and had a great win. The Newcastle players involved were Jason Hally, Jamie Grant, Oisín O’Dwyer, A. Kiely, John McGrath, Eoin O’Keeffe and Pádraig O’Loughlin.
