Congratulations to Seán Fitzpatrick who was a very worthy recipient of the County Board Laochra Sean Ghael award on Sunday last, November 16th in Thurles. The awards were presented by Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh and his attendance certainly added to the occasion. A number of club officers and members were present along with Seán’s family for the awards. Seán played for the club over a 20 year period and had the distinction of playing senior hurling with 4 different combinations involving Newcastle in the 1960’s. Congratulations also to Pete Savage, Ardfinnan and John English, Ballybacon/Grange who also won awards.
