Two County Scór titles for Newcastle GAA Club

posted 20 Mar 2013, 11:53 by Alan Cullinan
The strong tradition for Newcastle GAA continued on Sarurday 16th of March in Templemore. Our very successful group of dancers took home the county title in Senior Scor in the figure dance, this is the fourth consecutive county title for Newcastle in this competition. Sinead Grant also took first place in solo singing, this is a great achievement for such a small club. Treasa McGrath put in a fantastic performance in recitation but was pipped at the post by a very experienced contestant. The dancers also took part in the strongly contested set dancing competition, but were unsuccessful this time around. A big congratulations to Sinead in the singing and to the girls and their mentor Kathy McGrath for all their hard work and dedication they've put in so far, and thank you to those who came along and supported the girls. The girls will now go onto represent their club and county in the Munster final on the 6th of April in Templemore.
The support at these competitions is very important and we would encourage as many as possible to come along and enjoy a wonderful nights entertainment in our traditional culture. Well done and best wishes for your continued success.
